It has been awhile since I have updated on Paul. And of course this being the anniversary weekend of our forever family day with Lacie - he may get lost in the updates for a week or more. So . . . . .
First and foremost - have I shared yet that I have the most sweet, loving, wild, loud, amazing, funny, observant, aggressive, sincere, concerned, hot tempered, huggable, LOVING, interesting, climber, silly, fun loving, giggly, expressive boy in the world.
The other day when I was buckling the kids in their car seats I forgot to buckle Lacie's lap belt and Paul (who still does not have many words - but expresses himself very well) kept saying, "Ma Ma Ma" and I said, "what Paul?" He said very concerned, "aaaeee" (Lacie without the "L" and the "c"). I looked back at Lacie and noticed her belt not completely fastened. I was amazed that he noticed and that he cared enough to let me know.
When we are out where there is a large parking lot, Paul notices vehicles like those of his loved ones. He points to red cars like John's and says until I notice him, "Ma, Daaa. Ma, Daaa. Ma, Daaa." Then I notice what he is point to and I respond, "yes, Paul. That is a car like Daddy's." He also points out vans like mine and silver cars like MawMaw's.
He LOVES bikes and especially motorcycles. One of his favorite new words now is "biiiiiiii." Every time he see's a motorcycle he begins to get excited and yells, "Ma, biiiiiii." When we were at the store this evening and Paul saw the bicycles he was so excited to go see them. He did not even ask to ride the bikes. He just wanted to stare at them, I guess dreaming of the day when he was big enough to ride a real bike.
John was out of town on a fishing trip this past week. Each time he called to talk to us Paul got so excited to talk to John, but he has so few words. "Daaaa, Daaadeee. Daaaa, pooh."
Translated: "dad! Daddy! we swam in a pool!"
Some of his spontaneous words now are: Moe=more, ju=Juice or shoe, daaaa=dad, ma=mommy, Maw=MawMaw, biiii=bike, aaa-eee=Lacie, ball=ball, ball=Paul, eye, no=nose, no=no, No Ma=No mommy, No daaaa=No daddy, eeeee=eat, ear, eye, ay=yes, baa-eee=baby, me=me, my=mine, moe moe=Elmo, Doe=Dora, Bue=Blue (as in Blue's Clues), lello=yellow, go=go, one two, caa-eee=candy, aaa=hat, bubble,
There are more words but I can't think of them. He is still signing too.
He loves playdough, coloring, Magna-doodles, balls, water/swimming, sliding, climbing, gymnastics, cheese burgers, grapes, oranges, kim chi, kim bop, rice and dried laver=seasoned seaweed, kicking, his baby doll, cars, bikes, books, pictures of himself (no kidding), pictures of his familiar family and friends, Elmo, hats, bubbles, songs, singing, HUGS and Kisses, SHOES, and bikes. He LOVES to be held. He would sit on my lap for ever if I had forever to hold him in my lap. He loves to snuggle. Paul also loves clothes and loves to pick out his own outfit each morning.
He really loves pleasing me. He likes to help put clothes away and he takes pride in going to the potty. He helps sweep and mop the floors. He helps me do laundry by loading the washer and dryer. He gets excited when he has done anything to help me out.
He has a giggle that is totally amazing. He has a sense of humor that will help him get through life. I LOVE my boy.
One of our family presents this summer has been a jungle gym/swing set.
A video of my wild boy:
Here are two videos of Paul showing off his knowledge. Keep in mind that he has known his body parts for a long time - but now he can finally say most of them.
And here is my boy wearing his bicycle helmet - he loves wearing it.
There is so much more to share about him. I could write and write. I will be honest - he is not perfect - really - but to me - he is just wonderful. Both of my children are just totally awesome!

Hi Vonda,
I read this post and I had to write a note. I could have written this exact post about Peyton. Peyton says the same words exactly the same way Paul does. It's so sweet the way they say things right now. I have become an expert at deciphering Peyton Speak! Peyton still doesn't put the ending sound on many words, but it's coming along. Peyton, like Paul, is a wild yet very lovable little fellow. I started crying when I read the Forever Family Day post and continued crying as I read this one. You are a terrific writer and your love for your children shines through so brilliantly. Well done, Mama!
