July 13 is one of the most awesome days of our lives. She was the sweetest, cutest, most wonderful baby in China. It is bittersweet that she is 4, almost 5 years old. I so enjoy having her at this age and would NOT change a thing. At the same time I look back at her baby pictures and videos and ache inside for my baby girl. The years are going by WAY TOO FAST!
We celebrated our forever family day yesterday. When asked what she wanted to do, she said, "make hearts." So, we made about 3 dozen heart shaped sugar cookies and iced them with pink icing. Ummmmmm. Paul slept the ENTIRE time. What a blessing - cause Lacie and I had at least 2.5 hours together doing mommy daughter time. Our day was full. We went to church. We went to the mall and got her a new bathing suit and tennis shoes. (I have NOT been putting size 7's on her foot for the last year when she should have been in size 9's - not me.) We came home, put Paul to bed and began making our cookies. As we baked them we ate them and also licked lots of icing so I was feeling sick afterward. I do not know about Lacie.

After we finished making cookies, Paul woke up and then we went to play in our small pool for an hour. I even got in the pool. The kids thought it was funny. Daddy made us a wonderful dinner of freshly caught fish from the lakes of Minnesota (John's recent fishing trip). Lacie and Paul both loved the fish and ate more than they have eaten in a long time.

Then we let Lacie open her forever family day present (a size 8 outfit bought in China four years ago).

AND we watched her forever family day video - a video of the day we got her at 9 months. Lacie loved it, especially when we got to the clip where she was talking baby talk. I showed her the outfit she came in and I would never, ever ask her to model it for a photo - no not me.

It is a size 11.
Here is Lacie in the same outfit the day we got her.

So, we had a wonderful day with our pretty precious girl. I am still totally amazed that she is mine! She is ours!
Click HERE for a link to her blog of the day we got her, four years ago today - if you want to go down memory lane with me. I am trying to figure out a way to get a clip of her video to upload.
Blessings!
