"A house that is a home and has happy kids living in it is ALWAYS a mess. When they are gone, you can straighten and dust all you want, but the kids and the mess will be sorely missed." -John Easterling

03/12/2009 I still want to keep her little

As my baby is turning TWO – I look at my big girl and wonder where my first baby went. There are still certain things she says “incorrectly” and I allow it because I feel as if I correct her speech than my baby will be totally grown up. AND she can say the words right because I have tested her. Some things she still says: “I don’t need anyting.” “Can I snell it?” or “what does it snell like?” “O’tay mommy!” There are a few others but those are the ones that come to mind. Oh yea, one show she has watched lately on Noggin is “Maggie and the Ferocious Beast.” I asked Lacie a few days ago what she was watching and she said, “Maggie and the Nerosis beast.”

Ahhh and sometimes she will ask – instead of washing her hands with soap and water, “can I use Hanitizer?” (Hand sanitizer)

Then there are times she seems all grown up:

Just a few days ago Paul was climbing where he shouldn’t and Lacie looked at John and said, “Daddy, look at what YOUR SON is doing!”

Lacie asked me a few days ago if I was spoiled. I said yes. She said, “who spoils you?” I said, “Daddy does sometimes. And Maw Maw spoils me a lot.” Then I said, “in fact, Maw Maw spoils everyone. She spoils you, daddy, Jonathan, Nathan, Paul and even Euitag.”

Lacie’s response: “I need to call MawMaw and tell her to quit spoiling you!”

Do I hear a hint of jealousy?

When Emmy wants us to rewind something on the television, she asks us to "Reforward it back". So naturally that's what we all say now.
