7/20/08 Lacie's forever family day - photos

How can it be that our angel has been with us now for three years? It seems like yesterday we were in China getting to know our nine month old. And when Lacie viewed her forever-family day video with us, it did seem like yesterday. I keep asking her, “Where did my baby go?” And then I have friends whose children are teenagers and to think that someday that Lacie will be even older is very bitter sweet. I mean, I enjoy doing things with her like sticker books and crafts. And I enjoy our conversation with her, but I miss my baby. One day last week I asked Lacie to put her shoes on. She told me she could not, “I tan’t.” I said she was a big girl and she needed to put her own shoes on. She replied, “then why do you call me your baby?” She got me there.

She chose to go to the zoo for her forever-family day. She wanted “pink cotton candy.” And she wanted to see Alex the Lion from Madagascar. So, we visited the basics: Lion, Zebras, Giraffe, Elephants, and those animals in between. We rode the carousel and bought her an Alex the Lion stuffed animal and were ready for naps.

Here is our zoo trip.

We are truly blessed to have our two angels. God knows that we would have it no other way. He is so so good!
