"A house that is a home and has happy kids living in it is ALWAYS a mess. When they are gone, you can straighten and dust all you want, but the kids and the mess will be sorely missed." -John Easterling

06/15/2008 Happy Father's day!

Happy Father’s day! Happy Father’s day to my dear husband, he has really become a great dad over the past 3 years. Before fatherhood, he was a perfect human jungle gym, entertaining nephews and nieces. He really had no other experience with children. Now, after three years and two babies, he is really pretty amazing.

Happy Father’s day to our fathers – We love you all!

The other night as we were preparing for bed, Lacie said, “I’m dunna teep the baby brother I dot. OK mommy?” Then she said, “I’m dunna teep the mommy I dot.” And then, “I’m dunna teep the daddy I dot too.” I am so glad she wants to “teep” us. It is odd, often she will say every word when she speaks correctly. And then there are times she forgets (I guess) and goes back to using her “baby talk.” I hate to see her grow up so of course I do not push her to say it right. I guess that is not healthy, huh? I love when she still talks like a baby. She is growing up too fast.

Paul is now signing more words. I love it when he lets me know what he wants. He is proud of himself when he does this. It is obvious by his excitement when I respond to his signs. This weekend when it was time to wake Lacie up, I told him, “Lets go wake up Lacie.” And he got all excited and ran to the bedroom door to wake her. He is really beginning to understand what we say to him now. And since Lacie is one of his most favorite people – anytime I ask him, “where is Lacie?” He will go and look for her and hug her if he finds her.

Instead of pictures this time, I thought I would share a video show that I made – it is my first and I was just practicing. I got a new camera for mother’s day and it is easy to use. I have enjoyed capturing still pics as well as videos of the kids. So, enjoy, but remember I am really just a beginner.

CHURCH

I have wanted to share about our church lately – but have not been able to “fit it in” with the activities of our two wonderful children and their activities. But – I do not want to take much longer. WE have been attending a wonderful new church to our city. It is a “church plant” and so close to home, called Encounter. We are pretty sure that after six years of marriage, we finally found “our church.” The congregation is small and close. Services are relaxed and interactive. God is definitely being glorified in this church. Lacie witnessed her first baptism at Encounter. Since the church is still meeting at a local school, they are doing baptisms differently than I have seen before. I think this is rather creative. Here is a link to their most recent baptism, as well as a brunch celebration and service. You may need to either cut and paste if a click on the link does not connect you.

Have a great week. Send us a note or comment!
