I am trying out a video that we made of the kids playing. I do not know if anyone will be able to see it. Fingers are crossed!
As you will see in the video, the kids really like each other. We feel so blessed. Lacie is now very protective of her little brother. It has been so relaxing this past week where they are concerned - THANK God! I almost feel like my old Lacie is back! I think with the kids co-sleeping (with me in the room too of course) has helped a lot. We all seem to sleep better and longer. Lacie and Paul play together in our family room/play room very well. They have fought over one toy to date and Lacie had it first. Paul did not care that I let her have the toy - he was happy when I gave him a similar toy - this is such an easy age (situations depending of course).
Paul started school this week (with me there too) and seems to be doing well. I have not left him there yet so that will be another trial for him. He really is a good boy. He is ALL boy! He even smells like a little boy at the end of the day. Lacie could go three days without a bath and still smell sweet. He does play harder than she did/does. Her favorite pastimes were and are: books, puzzles, sticker books, playdough, etc. How smelly can one get doing those relaxed activities.
Last night Lacie asked for something and did not say "please." John told her that because she did not say "please" it was "too late" and she could not have what she wanted. She responded, "It is not too late daddy, it is still light outside." Ah yes, literal thinking!
Paul is growing each day. He seems to be getting a bit more brave each day - not clinging to me 24 hours, but more like 18. Tee Hee. Someone asked me the other day if he said anything. Yes, he can say, "Mama." AND he also says, "duh, Uh duh, ah YAAAA!, and AH Daaaa!" I am sure there is more he can say but those are the things that stand out to me.
Here is our video if it takes. At one point he slaps Lacie and she takes it very well. I tried to get him to really show his true contagious giggle by squeezing his leg, but it did not work. The video starts out dark cause it was bed time and we then turned on a light so it gets better.
You may need to cut and paste the link.
